Cosori TurboBlaze Error Codes: E01 to E04 Explained

What Cosori TurboBlaze error codes E01/E21, E02/E22, E03 and E04 mean per Cosori's manual, what you can safely try, and when to call support.

By Maksud · Published

Cosori TurboBlaze error codes point to two faults and one setup mistake, per Cosori’s manual for model CAF-DC601-KUS. E01/E21 (sometimes written E1) means an open circuit in the temperature monitor. E02/E22 means a short circuit in it; for both, Cosori says to contact Customer Support. E04 means a 220-240V outlet: unplug and use only 120V, 60Hz.

E03 is not in the TurboBlaze manual. Cosori’s Dual Blaze manual defines E3 as overheat protection.

Everything below is drawn from Cosori’s manuals, CPSC, USFA and NFPA. Nobody at Kitchen Watcher has run a TurboBlaze into these codes; see how we research.

What do E01 and E21 mean on a TurboBlaze?

The manual’s troubleshooting table lists “E01/E21” as one row: there is an open circuit in the temperature monitor, and the fix is to contact Customer Support. It gives no owner remedy. The only thing within an owner’s reach is to turn the unit off and unplug it, which the manual says to do before cleaning it.

Do not open the housing to look for a loose wire. Cosori’s warranty, issued by Arovast Corporation, excludes damage from service or repair by anyone other than Arovast, and any product modified from its original condition. The manual also does not explain why E01 and E21 share a row, or how they differ. We have not found a Cosori source that does, so we will not guess.

What do E02 and E22 mean on a TurboBlaze?

“E02/E22” means a short circuit in the temperature monitor, per the manual, and again the instruction is to contact Customer Support. The manual lists no reset or cleaning step for this code.

The manual’s general safeguards also say not to use the air fryer if it is damaged or not working, and to contact Customer Support instead. Cosori’s Dual Blaze manual (CAF-P583S-KUS) uses the same wording for its E1 and E2 codes, so the guidance is consistent across the two models.

Is E03 a TurboBlaze error code?

The CAF-DC601-KUS manual lists no E03. Under Overheat Protection, it says an overheating air fryer “will automatically shut down” as a safety feature. Let it cool down completely before using it again.

The closest official definition comes from a sibling model. Cosori’s Dual Blaze manual (CAF-P583S-KUS) defines E3 as overheat protection activating: turn off and unplug, allow it to cool completely, and contact Customer Support if the display keeps showing E3. Treat that as the best available Cosori guidance, not as TurboBlaze documentation. Neither manual gives a cool-down time in minutes.

The TurboBlaze manual does not tie any specific cause to an overheat shutdown. Before the next use, check these setup and care points from the manual:

What does E04 mean on a Cosori TurboBlaze?

E04 means the air fryer has been plugged into a 220-240V outlet. The manual says to turn it off, unplug it, and use it only with 120V, 60Hz outlets. It does not say what else can trigger the code.

The manual adds that the plug is polarized and must not be altered. If you use a longer extension cord, its marked electrical rating should be at least as great as the air fryer’s. Cosori’s warranty excludes damage caused by abnormal voltage.

Which TurboBlaze problems are not error codes?

From the manual’s troubleshooting table and feature notes:

When should you stop using it and call Cosori?

Call Customer Support for any E01/E21 or E02/E22, a repeat overheat shutdown, or dark smoke not caused by food. A damaged cord must be replaced by Arovast or similarly qualified persons, per the manual. The manual lists support by email and phone, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific time, and says warranty claims start with an email to Customer Support.

The TurboBlaze warranty runs 2 years from the date of original purchase and covers the original purchaser only, per the manual. It requires proof of purchase and verification of the defect, and excludes units bought from unauthorized sellers. Cosori also says not to dispose of the product before contacting support.

Is the TurboBlaze part of the 2023 Cosori recall?

No, based on the model list. CPSC recall 23-130, dated February 23, 2023, covered about 2 million Cosori air fryers sold in the US because a wire connection can overheat.

CPSC says the firm received 205 reports of the units catching fire, burning, melting, overheating and smoking, including 10 reports of minor, superficial burns.

The base models were CP158-AF, CP137-AF, CS158-AF, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, CAF-P581, CAF-P581S and CP258-AF, plus color variants, in 3.7 and 5.8 qt sizes; CAF-DC601 is not among them. CPSC says the model number on the recalled units is printed on the bottom label and in the user manual, so compare yours against CPSC’s full list.

What should you do if the air fryer catches fire?

Neither Cosori’s manual nor NFPA gives steps written for an air fryer fire, so this is the closest official guidance. NFPA’s cooking safety advice for any cooking fire: just get out, close the door behind you, and call 9-1-1 after you leave.

If you do try to fight it, NFPA says to make sure others are getting out and you have a clear way out. For an oven fire, NFPA says to turn off the heat and keep the door closed, and never throw water on a grease fire. For dark smoke, Cosori’s manual says to unplug the unit and wait for the smoke to clear before pulling the basket out. How to put out a grease fire covers the steps.

The U.S. Fire Administration estimates 170,000 home cooking fires in 2021. Unattended equipment was the leading factor in 37% of nonconfined cooking fires, and Cosori’s manual likewise says not to leave the air fryer unattended.
