Every US blender recall is posted on cpsc.gov. Four still matter to most owners. Vitamix Ascent and Venturist 8 oz and 20 oz containers and blade bases are recalled under CPSC 24-276 (June 20, 2024), which expands 18-202 from 2018.

Ninja BL660, BL663 and BL665 blenders fall under 16-034 (Nov 12, 2015). BlendJet 2 is under 24-069 (Dec 28, 2023), and the firm is out of business, so discard it. The Cuisinart CBJ-450 is under 23-056 (Dec 1, 2022).

To check yours, find the model number, part number, date code or serial number, compare it with the table below, then confirm on the CPSC notice. We checked the CPSC recall database on 2026-10-04 and will update this page when a new blender recall is posted. Nobody on our side handled any of these units; every fact below comes from the CPSC notice linked in its row.

Blender recall list: every CPSC notice still relevant to owners

Each cell is taken from that recall’s CPSC record, read through the SaferProducts.gov recall database on 2026-10-04. Units are US sales; CPSC lists Canadian sales separately.

How to check if my blender is recalled, step by step

These steps are our own summary of what the CPSC notices above say. They don’t replace the notice for your model.

  1. Find the identifying number. Per CPSC, a Ninja BL660-series model number is “in the rating label that is molded into the bottom of the motor base.” A BlendJet 2 serial number is printed on the bottom of the base. On Vitamix containers, the blade part number and date code are laser-etched on top of the blade at the bottom of the container. The Cuisinart CBJ-450 model number is on the base label and the original box.
  2. Search by brand, not just “blender”. Use cpsc.gov/Recalls or the SaferProducts.gov database. On 2026-10-04 a product-name search for “blender” did not return any of the three Vitamix recalls; their product names say “container” or “blending containers,” not “blender.”
  3. Check the exact part. A recall can cover a container or blade base rather than the motor base, as all three Vitamix recalls do.
  4. Follow the remedy on the CPSC notice, not a reseller’s, news site’s or law firm’s summary. Two widely read BlendJet news pages are out of date (see below).
  5. Report an incident at SaferProducts.gov, CPSC’s public reporting site.

Vitamix recall: which containers and blade bases are affected

Ascent and Venturist 8 oz and 20 oz containers (2018, expanded in 2024)

Per CPSC 24-276, “the containers can separate from the blade base, exposing the blades.” The recall covers all Ascent and Venturist 8-ounce and 20-ounce containers and blade bases, sold with blenders such as the V1200, A2300, A2500, A3300 and A3500, and on their own. CPSC lists sales from April 2017 through May 2024 at Costco, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Amazon, QVC and others, for $30 to $990.

The remedy, word for word: consumers “should immediately stop using the recalled 8-ounce and 20-ounce blending containers and blade bases, and contact Vitamix for a repair kit.” CPSC describes the kit as a protective plastic shroud that attaches over the blade base, plus instructional labels. The same sentence applies it to “consumers who participated in the 2018 recall.”

That matters because the 2018 notice said a green or orange dot on the bottom of the blade base meant the container had already been repaired. Consumer Reports’ recall page still describes that 2018 dot check. Under the 2024 notice, a dot no longer means you’re done.

CPSC lists Vitamix’s recall contact as 855-215-5178 or service@vitamix.com.

The 2013 Vitamix 64 oz Low-Profile container

CPSC 13-273 covers 64 oz Low-Profile containers with blade part number 103208 A and date codes 03-12 (March 2012) through 07-13 (July 2013). They were sold with the 7500, Professional Series 300 and Professional Series 750, and individually.

CPSC says replacement blades with part number 104602 A are not affected. The remedy was to stop using the container and contact Vitamix for instructions on sending it back, without the lid or accessories, for a free repair. The contact details in that 2013 notice are over a decade old; the current Vitamix recall contact CPSC lists (in 24-276) is 855-215-5178.

Is the Vitamix 5200 affected?

No CPSC notice we found covers the 5200 or its standard tall container. That conclusion rests on the absence of a matching notice in the CPSC database on 2026-10-04, not on a statement that it is safe. A 64 oz Low-Profile container from the 2013 date range is covered whichever base it’s used on. For how the 5200 compares with Ninja’s BN701, see Vitamix 5200 vs Ninja BN701.

Vitamix also publishes a recall information PDF. When we read it on 2026-10-04, it reproduced the CPSC 24-276 release and named no other Vitamix containers.

Ninja blender recall: BL660, BL663 and BL665 models

CPSC 16-034 covers 12 Ninja Professional blender models: BL660, BL660B, BL660C, BL660QCN, BL660QPL, BL660W, BL660WM, BL663, BL663CO, BL665QBK, BL665QCN and BL665QWH. CPSC says all have a clear 72-ounce pitcher with a stacked blade assembly, and were sold from March 2012 through September 2015 for about $140. It lists about 1.1 million units and 53 reports of lacerations.

The hazard is pouring, not the motor. Per CPSC, the blender “poses a laceration risk if consumers pour or invert the pitcher after removing the lid while the loose stacked blade assembly is still inside.” The remedy is new warnings and instructions, and CPSC says consumers need not return the blenders. Instead, they “should empty the blender’s pitcher through the locked lid’s pour spout or by removing both the lid and the stacked blade assembly from the pitcher before pouring.”

The 2015 notice points to SharkNinja at (877) 593-5140 and to ninjarecall.com for the revised manual. That site did not load on 2026-10-04, and the phone number is from 2015, so it may have changed.

Our research log found no CPSC recall notice for the Ninja BL610, BN701 or DB351. See Ninja BL610 vs BN701 and the Ninja DB351 review for those models. Law-firm pages about Ninja injury lawsuits describe legal claims, not CPSC recalls.

BlendJet 2 recall: the remedy is gone, so discard it

CPSC 24-069 covers about 4.8 million BlendJet 2 portable blenders. CPSC says units whose serial number starts with four digits between 5201 and 5542 “may be subject to the recall,” with BlendJet’s online serial-number tool as the final check. The serial number is printed on the bottom of the base. They were sold from October 2020 through November 2023 at Costco, Walmart, Target and BlendJet’s site for $50 to $75.

CPSC lists 329 reports of blades breaking, 17 overheating or fire incidents with about $150,000 in property damage claims, 49 minor burns and one laceration. The original remedy was a free replacement base. On 05/13/2025, per the cpsc.gov page we read on 2026-10-04, CPSC added a note that “BlendJet Inc. has gone out of business and the recall remedy is no longer available.” The instruction is now: “Discard this product. Do not donate or resell.”

CBS News and AARP still describe the replacement-base process. The SaferProducts.gov record also still shows the old remedy, so the cpsc.gov page is the one to trust here.

Other blender recalls on the CPSC list

No nutribullet, Breville or Blendtec blender recall was found in the CPSC database on 2026-10-04. The only Breville result was a 2015 pressure cooker recall. “None found” is not the same as “safe”; it means no notice exists.

What to do if your blender is recalled: three kinds of remedy

The remedy depends on the notice, and the three big recalls each ask for something different:

CPSC’s release text, as reproduced in Vitamix’s PDF, notes that federal law prohibits selling products subject to a recall, so don’t sell a recalled unit on. Report any incident at SaferProducts.gov. Beyond that, follow your notice and your manual.

Recall or just a failing blender?

A burning smell, a blender that won’t start or Ninja lights that blink are not recall signs on their own. They have their own guides: blender smells like burning, blender won’t turn on and Ninja blender blinking lights. For pouring hot soup safely, see can you put hot liquid in a blender.

How we built this blender recall list

We queried the SaferProducts.gov recall database by product name and by brand, then read each CPSC record listed above on 2026-10-04. cpsc.gov blocked scripted access, so the notice text comes from the same CPSC records via that database, plus the cpsc.gov BlendJet page for its 2025 update. More on our method at how we research; for buying advice, see the best blenders.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Vitamix 5200 recalled?

No CPSC notice covers the Vitamix 5200 or its standard tall container, based on our check of the SaferProducts.gov recall database on Oct 4, 2026. That rests on the absence of a matching notice. A 64 oz Low-Profile container with blade part 103208 A and date codes 03-12 to 07-13 is covered by CPSC recall 13-273, whichever base it sits on.

If I got the 2018 Vitamix repair kit, do I need the new one?

Yes. CPSC recall 24-276 says all consumers, including those who joined the 2018 recall, should immediately stop using the Ascent and Venturist 8-ounce and 20-ounce containers and blade bases and contact Vitamix for the new repair kit, a protective plastic shroud for the blade base plus instructional labels.

Is the Ninja BL610 or BN701 recalled?

No CPSC recall notice covers the Ninja BL610, BN701 or DB351 in the SaferProducts.gov database as of Oct 4, 2026. The only Ninja blender recall listed is CPSC 16-034 from November 2015, which covers 12 models whose numbers start with BL660, BL663 or BL665. Per CPSC, the model number is in the rating label molded into the bottom of the motor base.

Can I still get a replacement for my recalled BlendJet 2?

No. CPSC updated recall 24-069 on May 13, 2025 to say BlendJet Inc. has gone out of business and the recall remedy is no longer available. The notice now says to discard the product and not to donate or resell it. News pages that still describe a free replacement base predate that update.

Is a Ninja blender lawsuit the same as a recall?

No. A recall is a corrective action announced with the CPSC and listed on cpsc.gov, such as Ninja recall 16-034 for BL660-series blenders. A lawsuit is a private legal claim and does not by itself mean any model is recalled. To know whether your model is recalled, search the CPSC database by brand and model number.
